The picturesque Signorello Estate Winery, with its ivy-covered stone walls and gorgeous hillside views, was reduced to ashes and rubble by the Atlas Peak Fire this past October.
Signorello is one of the few family-owned wineries here in Napa Valley. Set in the hills in on the eastern side of the Silverado Trail in Napa, this beautiful estate was among the hardest hit wineries during the devastating October wildfires. A photo of the winery’s fire-ravaged entrance was used by multiple media outlets to show the wildfire’s destruction in wine country.
Thankfully for Signorello, they have the resources to rebuild. Signorello’s vineyards were largely spared, as was the barrel space. The 2015 vintage of red wines and 2016 vintage of white wines were stored off-site at the time of the fires and thankfully were not harmed.
Although Signorello is currently unable to provide tastings in Napa, the winery is offering a truly unique and elegant new option: Bring the Signorello experience into your home!
Known as the “Cucina experience,” this wine and dinner party is ideal for a host with 8 to 10, or more guests, who will be served a delicious seven-course meal created in the host’s kitchen by the Signorello Estate Chef, Tyler Stone. Each course carefully crafted by Chef Tyler will pair with a different wine, and at least one course will feature the ever-popular Snake River Farms Wagyu Kobe beef.
Signorello’s Estate Sommelier, Ron Plunkett, will begin the evening with a bottle of Champagne opened the traditional way – with a saber! The wine and food pairing will include Signorello Estate Seta, Hope’s Cuvee Chardonnay, Syrah, Cabernet and Padrone.
As a thank you to the host and guests, Signorello will lift its purchase limits on all wines in the portfolio, including library and big bottles.
The costs associated with the Cucina experience:
- $325 per person, which includes wine and food costs as well as the Chef and Sommelier’s time.
- $10,000 minimum total wine purchase by the group by end of the event. There will be no restrictions on wine choice or bottle quantity.
- The Host is responsible for any rentals or staffing required to stage the event, including stemware. Signorello will happily manage all logistics should you so choose.
- The Host is responsible for travel expenses for the Chef and Sommelier: coach airfare, lodging, car.
In January this year, Signorello Estate Proprietor Ray Signorello Jr. announced he had chosen Taylor Lombardo Architects to oversee the design of the rebuild. Nordby Construction Company will be in charge of the building process for the new winery and cave facilities.
The plan is to design a modern, state of the art building – capitalizing on the estate’s stunning views, with an open, airy design.
In addition to constructing the winery, Nordby Construction will create brand new, state-of-the-art wine aging caves on the property – a first for Signorello Estate.
