I’m very excited about the opening of Napa Valley’s new luxury hotel, Las Alcobas, as it’s north of town and provides yet another great restaurant between Saint Helena and Calistoga. The hotel has direct access to one of Napa Valley’s most famous wineries, an on-site spa and beautiful accommodations with stunning vineyard views, so guests are sure to experience the lifestyle Napa Valley is famous for.
Las Alcobas, sited on highly desirable real estate in St. Helena on Main Street adjoins Beringer Winery. Separated by only a creek, hotel guests will have direct access over a newly constructed bridge to Beringer’s beautiful estate and tasting rooms. The Las Alcobas property overlooks Beringer vineyards, making for spectacular views and stunning sunsets for hotel guests. In an interview with Departures Magazine, Samuel Leizorek, the founder, owner and CEO of the Las Alcobas Hotel Group, said the heart of wine country “strongly appealed” to him. He said “This is about a room in a vineyard versus vineyard views in the distance”.
The 68-room luxury boutique hotel in St. Helena is the second property for the hotel group and the first in the United States. The Las Alcobas in Mexico City is a 35-room hotel that opened in 2009.
Las Alcobas has been one of the most highly anticipated hotel openings here in Napa Valley, and it’s sure to deliver memorable experiences for its guests. Las Alcobas will feature an outdoor heated pool, a pool bar, yoga studio and fitness center, and a farmhouse-style building for their spa, which will use products from Naturopathica. Most of the hotel’s guest rooms face west for stunning sunset views and include terraces with gas-powered fireplaces and rocking chairs.
Construction began in August 2014. The original property included three abandoned buildings, two of which were demolished. The third – a Victorian mansion called the Acacia House was refurbished to house the hotel’s fine dining restaurant and at least six guest rooms. The restaurant will be led by chef Chris Cosentino of San Francisco’s Cockscomb. Cosentino was also the winner of Top Chef Masters. The menu for Acacia House promises to be unique, highly seasonal and made to pair with Napa Valley wines.
Several publications, including Travel+Leisure and The New York Times, have named Napa Valley and Las Alcobas as top destinations for 2017.
