Napa Valley Insider Newsfeed March 2018

There seems to be no shortage of money in the market when it comes to luxury vineyard and winery real estate sales in Napa Valley. I was analyzing the data for a high end listing presentation the other day and was reminded that there has only been twelve residential sales over $10.9 million with no more than 5 acres of vines and no trademark and inventory included in the sale since 2010.  Three of those sales were within the last twelve months. There have been many other sales of residential homes with income producing vineyards, wineries, trademarks and inventory for over $10.9 million.

I wanted to take the opportunity in this months newsletter to announce the launch of my visual podcast Napa Valley Inside Out which shines a light on our beautiful and coveted lifestyle here in Napa Valley. Every week I will be releasing interviews with amazing talent, vintners, entrepreneurs, leaders, business owners, consultants and well known personalities here in the valley. They share their knowledge, experience, advice, goals, passions and their best kept secrets. We are launching the podcast with three interviews.

My first interview is with Tor Kenward of TOR Wines in Napa Valley. We talked about his journey to Napa Valley, how he has managed to own a cult wine brand without owning a vineyard or winery, about his friendship with Julia Child and some of the great legends of the valley.

My second interview is with Chuck McMinn, Owner of Vineyard 29. We talked about his life in Silicon Valley before buying Vineyard 29 and moving to Napa Valley, his founding of the amazing 47 mile Vine Trail, and the Rail Art District that is developing along it and touched on NapaLearns and his efforts to better prepare kids in all Napa’s schools for the jobs of tomorrow.

My third interview is with the extraordinarily talented Karen Caldwell of Karen Caldwell Design. Karen tells us about her journey to Napa Valley and how she went from designing gowns for the Who’s Who in San Francisco to the red carpet in Hollywood, for Jessica Chastain, Viola Davis, Helena Bonham Carter, Amanda Seyfried, Kristin Davis of Sex In The City and the Producers of Spotlight. Karen shares with us who she has her sights set on for the next Hollywood Award Ceremony.

Interviews with John Tutuer – Napa County Tax Assessor, Paul Anamosa Viticulturalist and Soil Scientist, Dr. Gan Dunnington Cardio Thoracic Surgeon at St. Helena Hospital, Bonnie Strom & Nena Talcott Founders of Grove 45 Olive Oil, Andy Beckstoffer Beckstoffer Vineyards, Tony Correia Appraiser, Tim Martin Gauge Branding, Scotti Stark The Stark Advantage, Ben Mandel Capital Appreciation Strategies, Todd Zapolski Zapolski Real Estate and Patsy McGaughy Creative Director, Napa Valley Vintners are in the works.
